Driving Impact through Inclusive Media
I have involved in community works from grassroots level for over 16 years now, Actual individual contributions started when my friends had founded Queer Chennai Chronicles, where we involved in publishing and organising first Indian Literature festival focusing on regional languages. I was part of organising teams and managing the event.
Our experience in Queer Chennai Chronicles built association with writers and journalists, which formed InQlusive Newsrooms; which was supported by Google News Initiative. We published over LGBTQIA+ Media reference guide in over 5 regional languages with English I had authored an individual chapter in it. (ch-Faith)
As a Project co-ordinator of InQlusive Newsrooms, I contribute to efforts that transform how Indian newsrooms and journalists learn to cover LGBTQIA+ communities with dignity, respect and accuracy. Through media reference guides, trainings and fellowships, we help reshape journalism to be more inclusive and representative.
